HISTORY

Toy Sense began its journey in 2002 with an unexpected twist of fate. Originally intended as an Auto-Tool store, founder Darryl Boyer had a heartwarming encounter with his son Mateyko. When Darryl shared his plans for the store, little Mateyko innocently asked, "Is it going to be a toy store?" Determined not to disappoint his son, Darryl decided to incorporate a few toys into the store's offerings.

Coincidentally, around the same time, the local toy store had closed its doors, leaving a void in the community for quality toys. Responding to the demand, Toy Sense gradually expanded its toy selection. What started with just a few toys quickly grew into a row, and before they knew it, Toy Sense had expanded to encompass multiple rows of toys. Today, the original store boasts an impressive size of 4,500 square feet, complemented by a spacious 7,000 square feet warehouse.

You can find this thriving toy store at 447 May Street North, adjacent to another establishment called Auto-Tool Sense. Auto-Tool Sense offers a comprehensive range of auto parts, as well as hand and air tools, providing a convenient synergy between these two distinct but complementary businesses.

In the summer of 2021, Toy Sense introduced Wildwood Cafe which provides a cozy and welcoming atmosphere where visitors can relax and enjoy delicious refreshments amidst their toy shopping experience.

In August 2023, Toy Sense became part of the Connexion Truck Centre group, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
